The best thing about RadioRA 2? It features Lutron’s wireless technology, so you can use the existing wire to install it. Remote mount dimmers or wallbox power modules provide centralized control and include local topology – so the actual load control is in the device itself making it an easy solution for retrofit applications.
The biggest difference? RadioRA 2 is as reliable as it is beautiful. Operating on its own radio frequency, it doesn’t need Bluetooth or an internet connection. So if your power goes down, your lights will still work.
It also has stylish controls in a variety of colors and finishes, fitting into pretty much any décor. Their Grafik T keypads are backlit and custom etched to create a truly personalized look that’s easy to find.

So, is RadioRA 2 worth it?
RadioRA 2 is worth the money if you need the extra bells and whistles like cool looking wall switches, custom keypads and integration with sensors and other third-party systems. It’s also wireless so it’s perfect for retrofit projects or for projects where you’re doing one room or a floor and may need to build onto it later.
In terms of price, it’s more affordable than other premium hardwired systems like Lutron’s Homeworks QS/QSX. Don’t get me wrong, you’ll definitely need a healthy budget to install this system, but you won’t find anything more reliable, or as beautiful as Lutron’s RadioRA 2.
What’s the main difference? Unlike Homeworks QS/QSX it’s wireless. So, there are no panels for dimming modules. And while it has a device limit of 200 and is harder to install than Caseta (you can’t program in conditional logic), it’s still the best value by a long shot. You don't need a home network for it to work (it has its own RF), and you can add remote features and integrate with almost any other third-party system (like Leviton, etc.).
Keep costs down by not putting dimmers in areas where they don’t make sense (laundry room, storage areas), and make tweaks to the software yourself to integrate additions like shades, harmony home remotes, security systems and Alexa. Aside from lacking a few extras here or there, it's a pretty sweet and completely self-contained system.
