Gescan is proud to introduce our newest Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Sales Specialist, Satwinder (Sati) Sidhu, who will be working out of our Coquitlam office. Originally from the Okanagan, Sati brings seven years of experience to our ICT division and supports our 14 branches across BC in providing end-to-end data communication, CCTV, Audio Video, Access Control and Security solutions for all our customers' low-voltage needs. 

Sati began his career as a Low-Voltage Technician in 2015, receiving hands-on experience in network installation, Lutron Radio Ra2, solar panel and CCTV installations and set up. Although Sati enjoyed working in the field, he discovered that he was a natural at sales and transitioned into an Inside Sales position at a Global Distributor of Security products. Sati saw moving to Gescan as a great opportunity to grow his career and offer his skills to develop Gescan’s ICT sector across British Columbia. “It's a great career opportunity to work and retire at Gescan,” Sati explained.  

With an attentive and responsive sales approach, Sati is a firm believer in building trusting relationships with customers, “Being a reliable person and available if somebody has questions is important...They shouldn’t hesitate to call.” His previous experience allows him to easily help customers find the best solutions and resolve issues quickly, “Because I've been in the field, I know what needs to be done and how. So, when talking to customers, it’s not a foreign language to me and I am able to understand their questions and product needs. Having that technical knowledge goes a long way and helps you distinguish yourself as a reliable resource,” said Sati. 

Sati offers customers start-to-finish project expertise, including determining specifications, quoting the right materials for installs, creating Bills of Materials, and fast delivery of inventory. "In this industry, time is money and no one wants to be bogged down for extended periods of time trying to find the right products to quote jobs.” 

Sati has lived an interesting life; after studying Science at Kwantlen Polytechnic he transferred to the University of British Columbia where he completed his degree in Biology. He then went on to obtain his Bachelor’s in Accounting from BCIT. Sati is also an avid golfer, plays basketball a few times a week and enjoys hiking different trails around the Lower Mainland.
