Gescan is pleased to introduce Ravi Pannu as our new Automation Sales Specialist for the Emerson PAC Systems product line, including hardware, software and engineering services. Serving Southern Alberta, Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Thunder Bay, Ravi offers full automation, process and electrical products for Gescan customers in the industrial, utilities and process markets.

Ravi has always been fascinated by electronics and technology and holds a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering from the University of Saskatchewan. He's worked in every department within the electrical distribution chain throughout his career including Warehouse, Marketing, Pricing, Purchasing, Inside Sales and Operations. Ravi is always developing his product, technical and automation knowledge to better support customers in discovering the right solutions for their needs. He also has years of experience building relationships with customers through Outside Sales opportunities and is passionate about joining Gescan in leading the charge as a complete industrial solution, automation and controls service provider.

Aiding in evaluating, developing, communicating and quoting solutions, Ravi brings an inquisitive, value-driven and collaborative approach to his work, "Before heading into a meeting, I always ask myself…What value am I bringing to the client?" He says the key to finding the best solution for customers, as opposed to simply a product, lies in asking the right questions to understand the full spectrum of a customers' challenges and get to the core of their issue. “When we visit a site we look to see what other holes can be filled in order to offer a complete solution instead of dividing it into different pieces which makes more work for the customer. So we make their job easier by providing a one-stop-shop,” Ravi said.

As one of Gescan’s Automation Specialists, Ravi collaborates with a variety of other experts and departments within the company to ensure each client receives the best service and solutions available, “Here everyone has a hand in making sure that customers have a great experience. Whether it's coming in with expertise, somebody helping them through a digital solution, or even the president calling them directly to offer assistance. It really is a collaborative place and I don't think anyone can do it alone.” He continues, “We have a new distribution specialist, Steve Adams. I've been working with him to see where I can fit in with other people or where they can fit in with me and come together for customers.”

When asked what advice he had for others looking to pursue a similar career path in the industry, Ravi said, “My advice to people just starting out would be to put in the work and time. Hard work never goes unnoticed...There is always room for improvement, so learn from the people that have been in the industry longer.” Working directly with Gescan veteran of more than 35 years, Scot Skelton, Ravi is doing just that.
